Mint Theater Company presents The Lucky One
Mint Theater Company presents the first-ever New York revival of A.A. Milne's The Lucky One, directed by Jesse Marchese, which begin previews at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre on April 14, 2017, before an official opening on May 18 and a limited engagement through to June 25, 2017.
Synopsis: "The Lucky One is the timeless story of antagonism between two brothers: Gerald, who stands in the sun, and Bob, who stands in Gerald's shadow. When Bob finds himself in serious legal trouble, he turns to Gerald for rescue. When Gerald fails to come through, years of simmering resentment boil over in a confrontation that is as stirring as it is surprising."
The complete cast of The Lucky One includes (in alphabetical order) Paton Ashbrook, Ari Brand, Andrew Fallaize, Michael Frederic, Robert David Grant, Wynn Harmon, Cynthia Harris, Deanne Lorette, Peggy J. Scott and Mia Hutchinson-Shaw.
The creative team behind The Lucky One features scenic design by Vicki R. Davis, costume design by Martha Hally, lighting design by Christian DeAngelis and sound design by Toby Algya.
The Lucky One originally premiered in New York in 1922 and ran for 40 performances at the Garrick Theatre, which closed in 1929 and was demolished in 1932.
A.A. Milne was represented by 17 different Broadway productions between 1918 and 1932, and is, of course, best known for his "Winnie-the-Pooh" novels.
