Medea, starring Trezana Beverley, at the National Black Theatre


Wide Eyed Productions presents Euripides' Medea, in a new translation by Nicholas Rudall and starring Tony Award Winning actress Trezana Beverley, at the National Black Theatre from 15 Feb - 2 Mar 2008.

Medea: Sorceress princess Medea (Trezana Beverley) will stop at nothing to repay Jason for the ultimate betrayal of his family and the woman he promised to love forever. Medea is criminal, but not without cause, and not without strength and dignity.

Trezana Beverley won the 1977 Tony Award for her performance in the Broadway production of 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf.'

Directed by Petronia Paley, Medea also features Sharita Hunt, Natasha Yannacanedo, Beverley Prentice, Marishka Phillips, Mary E. Hodges, Ma'at Zachary, Bryan Webster, David Heron and David D. Wright.

The creative team comprises Ali Turns (costumes), Joyce Liao (lighting) and David D. Wright (sound).
