'Marion Bridge' at Urban Stages
Urban Stages presents the American Premiere of Marion Bridge, by Daniel MacIvor, opening at Urban Stages on the 6 Oct 2005, following previews from the 1 Oct and running through to the 13 Nov 2005.
Marion Bridge tells the story of three sisters (Is Theresa a nun? Is Louis a lesbian? Is Agnes a mother?) who return home to care for their Mother. Trapped by life choices and unfulfilled expectations that have left them isolated, the three women search for the courage to create a new family from the remnants of the old.
Marion Bridge's cast, directed by Susan Fenichell, features: Susan Louise O�Connor, Christa Scott-Reed and Henny Russell.
The production has set design and costume design by Carol Bailey, lighting by Jorge Arroyo and sound by Eric Shim.
Daniel MacIvor is a contemporary Canadian playwright; he is the recipient of The Governor General�s Award, one of Canada�s most prestigious arts honors. His other plays include Never Swim Alone (1998 FringeNYC Award), In On It (OBIE Award, GLAAD Award), and See Bob Run, all of which enjoyed successful runs in New York City.
