Manhattan Theatre Club announce their 2006 - 2007 season
Manhattan Theatre Club announces upcoming productions for their 2006-2007.
Two Broadway plays to be staged at the Biltmore - American premiere Losing Louie by Simon Mendes Da Costa and a revival of The Country Girl by Clifford Odets.
Three Off-Broadway plays to be staged at the NY City Center - World premiere Regrets Only by Paul Rudnick, World premiere Our Leading Lady by Charles Busch, and American premiere Blackbird by David Harrower.
Broadway's Biltmore Theatre:
- Losing Louie (American Premiere) by Simon Mendes Da Costa and directed by Jerry Zaks.
Synopsis: How do our childhood memories affect our lives? How do the mistakes of one generation impact the next? And most importantly, why does love make us do such crazy things? This new play explores these questions, as two generations of family members work things out in the same bedroom, fifty years apart.

Synopsis: The title character, Georgie, is married to actor Frank Elgin, once a great theatre star, now down on his luck. When Frank is offered a major role by young, hotshot director Bernie Dodd, he has the chance to make a major comeback. The pressures created by a high stakes out-of-town tryout bring into dramatic focus the complicated relationship between husband and wife. Life backstage becomes an emotional and psychological battleground for all three characters.

Off-Broadway's New York City Center - Stage I:
- Regrets Only (World Premiere) by Paul Rudnick and directed by Christopher Ashley.
Synopsis: Comedy of Manhattan manners, exploring the very latest topics in marriage and friendship. The setting: a Park Avenue penthouse. The players: a powerhouse attorney, his deliriously social wife and their closest friend, one of the world�s most staggeringly successful fashion designers. Add a daughter�s engagement, some major gowns, the President of the United States, and stir.

Synopsis: Two people had a relationship, now they meet 15 years on. Ray has made a new life for himself, he has a new identity, he didn't think he could be found. Una has thought of nothing else, and on finding a photo of him sets out to find Ray with shattering consequences.

- Our Leading Lady (World Premiere) by Charles Buschand directed by Lynne Meadow.
Synopsis: Laura Keane, a 19th century American stage luminary, prepares to perform at Ford's Theatre on the fateful night when Abraham Lincoln is in the audience.
