Magpie at Barrow Group Theater

Amas Musical Theatre presents a staged reading of the musical Magpie, music by Gary William Friednam, lyrics by Edward Gallardo and book by Stephen M. Jacobson, playing at the Barrow Group Theater on the 27 & 28 Sep 2006, as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

Magpie and Tino are star-crossed lovers. He�s a good kid trying to escape the streets. She can sing all the words to Verdi�s operas but she can�t write her name. Set in the fast-paced world of New York bike messengers, Magpie has a score steeped in the Latin rhythms of the City.

Directed by Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj, Magpie features Ronny Mercedes (Tino), Jessica Fields (Maggie), Kenyon Adams, Neal Benari, Kimberly Reid Dunbar, Dennis Holland, Maxx, Joseph Melendez, Doreen Montalvo, Michael Murdoch, and Kim Volpe.
