Macbeth at the Lion Theatre

Oberon Theatre Ensemble presents Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, at Theatre Row's Lion Theatre from 14 Feb - 8 Mar 2008. The production plays in repertoire with Michael Weller's Ghost on Fire

Macbeth: A study of power and the detriment of unchecked ambition. Three witches prophesy that Macbeth, a general in the service of Duncan, King of Scotland, will become Thane of Cawdor and then King of Scotland. The first part of the prophesy is soon fulfilled when Duncan rewards Macbeth's loyal service: encouraged by this, and playing on her husband's ambition, Lady Macbeth persuades him to murder the king.

Directed by Philip Atlakson, Macbeth features Claire Anderson, Gabe Bettio, Mac Brydon, Devon Butler, Brian D. Coats, Sarah Ecton-Lutrell, John Gardner, Allison Goldberg, James Holloway, William Laney, Jonathan Pereira, David McLellan, Cliff Jewell, Grace Pettijohn, Eden Teagle, Laura Siner and Paula Wilson.

The creative team comprises Ryan Bartruff (choreography), Phil Atlakson (sets) and Sharon Huizinga (lighting).
