The Ma-Yi Theatre company presents two plays in repetory at Theatre Row's Clurman Theater. They are Chairs and a Long Table, written by Hang Ong, and Livin' La Vida Imelda, created and performed by Carlos Celdran.

Chairs and a Long Table begins previews on 28 October 2014, officially opens on 6 November and plays its last performance on 22 November 2014.

Synopsis: "Chairs and a Long Table follows a group of Asian American actors in New York City as they prepare to attend a conference addressing racial discrimination in the casting of a classic Chinese play, where the two lead characters have been cast with non-Asian actors."

It is directed by Linsay Firman and the cast includes Ron Domingo, Julie Fitzpatrick, Julienne Kim, Moses Villarama, and Jeena Yi.

Livin' La Vida Imelda begins previews on 31 October 2014, officially opens on 5 November and plays its last performance on 23 November 2014.

Synopsis: "This is an in-depth look at the inimitable life of Imelda Marcos, a solo show created and performed by Carlos Celdran, an insider with intimate knowledge of Manila's elite. The show - which might alternately be described as 'Here Lies The Dirt' - offers a unique insight into what makes a megalomaniac tick and details the life of the world's most extravagant personality, Imelda Marcos, the wildly controversial former First Lady of the Philippines."

The show is directed by Ralph B. Pena.

Both plays are produced by Suzette Porte and Ma-Yi Theatre Company and feature scenic design by Nick Francone, lighting by Yi Zhao, costumes by Becky Bodurtha, and sound design by Fabian Obispo (Livin' La Vida Imelda) and Nick Borisjuk (Chairs and a Long Table).
