Lucas Hedges to star in MCC Theater's YEN
MCC Theater has announced that Lucas Hedges will star in the U.S. premiere of Anna Jordan's YEN, directed by OBIE winner Trip Cullman.
Co-Artistic Director of MCC Theater Bernie Telsey commented:
"Those of us lucky enough to have already seen Kenneth Lonergan's new film 'Manchester by the Sea' can agree that this year 'a star is born' in the incredibly gifted Lucas Hedges. MCC has a great legacy of working early-on with emerging stage artists, so we're particularly excited that Lucas will be sharing his unbelievably expressive gifts as an actor—in his stage debut!—in Anna Jordan's beautiful new play."This New York transfer from London's acclaimed Royal Court Theatre has also announced new dates. Previews will now begin previews on 12 January 2017 (in stead of 2 February), before an official opening on 30 January (instead of 21 February) and a limited run now through to 19 February 2017 (instead of 12 March).
Synopsis: "Bobbie and Hench are home alone. Days are filled by streaming porn, playing Call of Duty, watching the world go by. Their mom rarely visits these days, and it's chaos when she does. But when animal-loving neighbor Jenny takes an interest in their dog Taliban, the boys discover a world far beyond what they know. YEN explores a childhood lived without boundaries."
Additional casting and creative team information will be announced at a later date.
Lucas Hedges' most notable screen credits include "Moonrise Kingdom," "Kill the Messenger" and "Manchester by the Sea."
