'Lone Star Love' - Joseph Mahowald joins cast

Joseph Mahowald joins the cast of Lone Star Love the new musical at the John Houseman Theatre, in the role of Frank Ford, a role currently played by Gary Sandy. Mahowald joins The Amas Musical Theatre Production, also known as the Merry Wives of Windsor Texas, beginning 21 Jan.

Lone Star Love opened at the John Houseman Theater on the 8 Dec 2004, following previews from the 21 Nov. It is currently booking to the 6 Feb 2005.

Lone Star Love, an original musical, transports Shakespeare's immortal John Falstaff to post-Civil War America, where he wreaks havoc on the town of Windsor, Texas, and in so doing--thanks to a pair of wily women--gets his own comeuppance in spades.

Joseph Mahowald starred on Broadway in the title roles of 'Jekyll And Hyde' and as Javert and Enjolras in 'Les Miserables'. Joseph also starred in Mike Reid's opera, 'Different Fields'' for The Metropolitan Opera Guild. Off-Broadway, he has appeared in 'The Prince And The Pauper', 'The Little Prince' and 'Antigone'. He is a founding member of the Artistic Company of the Tennessee Repertory Theatre. National tours include Javert in 'Les Miserables', Lancelot in 'Camelot' and 'A Grand Night For Singing'.

Lone Star Love off-Broadway's largest musical has a cast that includes Jay O. Sanders as Sergeant John Falstaff, Stacia Fernandez as Margaret Anne Page, Beth Leavel as Aggie Ford, Dan Sharkey as George Page, Clarke Thorell as Fenton and the 'Red Clay Ramblers' - Clay Buckner as Nym, Chris Frank as Bardolph, Jack Herrick as Pistol - Falstaffs ragtag band of men.

Lone Star Love also features Kevin Bernard as Lucas, Shane Braddock as Rugby, Peter Connelly Chester, Harriett D. Foy Miss Quickly, Stacey Harris as Consuela, as Doctor Caius, April Nixon as Grace, Nick Sullivan as Sheriff Bob Shallow, Julie Tolivar MissAnne Page, Brandon Williams as Abraham Slender, and Dana Zihlman as Ruby.

Joining the Red Clay Ramblers band are guest artists Gary Bristol on bass, David Longworth on drums and Emily Mikesell on fiddle.
