Lombardi now selling tickets through to 19 Jun
The Broadway premiere of Eric Simonson's new play Lombardi, about football coach Vince Lombardi, has released a new block of tickets on sale through to 19 Jun 2011.
Lombardi, a new American play from Academy Award-winning playwright Eric Simonson, is based on the best-selling biography 'When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi,' by Pulitzer Prize winning author David Maraniss.
Producers Fran Kirmser and Tony Ponturo, said, "We are thrilled that theatergoers who love a great story have embraced Lombardi. But something else has happened night after night at Circle in the Square: people experiencing theatre for the first time have found our show. Sports fans and traditional theatergoers clearly have much in common: the story of Vince Lombardi's inspiring life has spoken to many people, and we are confident that the trend will continue. It is with enormous pride and great thanks to our hard working cast and crew that we are able to put tickets on sale through June 19."
Lombardi opened at the Circle in the Square on 21 Oct 2010, following previews from 23 Sep 2010.
Directed by Tony Award nominee Thomas Kail, the cast will also feature Dan Lauria in the lead role of Vince Lombardi, joined by Judith Light as 'Marie Lombardi,' Keith Nobbs as 'Michael McCormick,' Bill Dawes as 'Paul Hornung,' Robert Christopher Riley as 'Dave Robinson' and Chris Sullivan as 'Jim Taylor.'
Audience members attending the play on a Tue or Thu performance in Jan 2011 can join the cast after the show for a post-show "talkback."
The play has sets by David Korins, costumes by Paul Tazewell, lighting by Howell Binkley and sound by Acme Sound Partners/Nevin Steinberg.
