Lee Evans at the 37 Arts Theatre

Lee Evans brings his unique brand of physical comedy to the 37 Arts Theatre from the 19 May - 3 Jun 2006.

Lee Evans started out as a boxer and has used his unique comedy and irrepressible physicality to create an eclectic career that includes working with talent as diverse as Ben Stiller, Christopher Walken, Nathan Lane and STOMP.

He received an Olivier Award nomination for his performance as Leo Bloom in the London production of The Producers opposite Lane. Critics called him �Hilariously funny� (Sunday Express), and compared Nathan Lane and him to �Laurel and Hardy. Both are comedians of genius, wonderful physical performers with flawless comic timing, never failing to land the laughs.� (Mail on Sunday).

Lee Evans is best known in the US for his roles in the Farrelly Brothers� There�s Something About Mary, the cult hit Funny Bones, and Mouse Hunt opposite Nathan Lane.

As a stand up, Evans sold out the London Palladium for two nights, London�s Lyric Theatre for ten weeks and played to over 300,000 people on his last tour culminating in six sold out nights at Wembley Arena in December 2005. His DVD, Lee Evans XL Tour 2005 Live went to Number 1 selling over one million copies in the UK.

He is the winner of the Time Out Comedy Award and the prestigious Perrier Award (in 1993), and has been described by the press as "a dazzling comic genius.� His London stage credits include starring in Samuel Beckett�s Endgame alongside theatre legend Michael Gambon. His extensive film credits include Ladies Man with Tim Meadows and Will Farrell, the Oscar-nominated short Brooms by the creators of STOMP and The Fifth Element with Bruce Willis and Gary Oldman.

Lee Evans has also performed four times at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, including a sold-out run of his one-person show.
