Lebebsraum at the Kirk Theatre


Studio J Productions in association with Erika Feldman and Adam Fitzgerald presents Israel Horovitz's comic-drama Lebebsraum, opening at Theatre Row's Kirk Theatre on 17 Dec 2006, following previews from 13 Dec and running through to 30 Dec 2006.

Lebebsraum: Based on the premise that a German Chancellor might, as an act of redemption, invite six million Jews to relocate in Germany, with promises of citizenship and employment. Lebensraum follows an out of work Jewish dock-worker from Massachusetts to Bremerhaven, an Auschwitz survivor who returns to Berlin to find the woman who betrayed his family to the Nazis, a young German girl who falls in love with a teenged Jewish American �new citizen�, and scores of others.

Directed by Jonathan Rest, Lebebsraum features T. Ryder Smith, Suli Holum, and Ryan Young.

Set design by Susan Zeeman Rogers, with lighting and sound by Chris Bailey and costumes by Samantha Miller.
