Kyle Dean Massey to return as Fiyero

 

Kyle Dean Massey is to return to the role of 'Fiyero' on 31 Jul 2012 in the Broadway company of Wicked. Massey assumes the role from Richard H. Blake who will play his final performancer on 29 Jul 2012.

Massey last performed the role of 'Fiyero' on Broadway in the Spring of 2011. Other Broadway credits include 'Next to Normal' (Gabe) and 'Xanadu' (Thalia). Off-Broadway: 'Altar Boyz' (Matthew). Film/TV: "Cupid" (ABC), Sex and the City 2" (HBO Films)."

Massey joins a cast which includes Jackie Burns (Elphaba), Chandra Lee Schwartz (Glinda), Adam Grupper (The Wizard), Randy Danson (Madame Morrible), Richard H. Blake (Fiyero), Jenny Fellner (Nessarose), Tom Flynn (Doctor Dillamond) and Etai Benshlomo (Boq).

The Broadway musical Wicked opened at the Gershwin Theatre on 30 Oct 2003, following previews from 8 Oct 2003 and is currently selling tickets through to 15 Jan 2012.

Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. Wicked tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.

Wicked has music & lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Winnie Holzman, based on the novel by Gregory Maguire.

The musical is directed by Joe Mantello, with choreography by James Lynn Abbott, scene design by Eugene Lee, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Kenneth Posner and sound by Tony Meola.
