After an Off-Broadway engagement at Atlantic Theater Company, Kimberly Akimbo will transfer to Broadway in fall 2022. Kimberly Akimbo will begin previews at an unnamed theatre on October 12, ahead of an opening night on November 10.

The Kimberly Akimbo musical is based on David Lindsay-Abaire's 2003 play of the same name. The musical follows the title character, Kimberly, a New Jersey teen who looks like a septuagenarian. Her aging disease means she has to deal with family secrets, borderline personalities, and felony charges, but ultimately she just wants happiness.

In a four star review of Kimberly Akimbo for New York Theatre Guide, our critic said: "The show gives you something to chew on as it looks at life, death, and what comes in-between. Watching a new show that satisfies and surprises never gets old."

The Off-Broadway cast of Kimberly Akimbo will star in the Broadway production. Victoria Clark plays the title role, and the cast includes Justin Cooley, Steven Boyer, Alli Mauzey, Bonnie Milligan, Olivia Elease Hardy, Fernell Hogan, Michael Iskander and Nina White.

Kimberly Akimbo features a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, and music by Jeanine Tesori. Jessica Stone directs, and choreography is by Danny Mefford. Additional creative team members will be announced at a later date.

Kimberly Akimbo on Broadway will open at a theatre owned by the Shubert Organization. Details will be revealed in due course.
