Joan Crowe's The Key of Comedy: A fun-filled show that will pay tribute to the great Jesters of Jazz, the writers of our time who have written not just great jazz tunes but songs that also have a sense of humor. The shows will feature classics by Cab Calloway, Fats Waller, Louis Jordan, Dave Frishberg, Bob Dorough and many more!
�I�m on a mission to inject a little humor into the world of jazz,� says the Indianapolis native who is a versatile singer with an extensive repertoire of jazz, standards, pop, rock, blues and folk. Joan�s comic ability earned her the 2002 MAC Award for Female Musical Comedy. Together with her jazz trio and her larger band, High Society Rhythm, she has performed at The Rainbow Room, The Carnegie Club, Birdland, The Iridium, The Jazz Standard, Town Hall and Los Angeles� Cinegrill, as well as at many other music and comedy venues.
Joan Crowe's The Key of Comedy will be backed by bass player Jay Leonhart, her longtime collaborator Tedd Firth on piano, and percussionist Matt Wilson.
