Iphigenia 2.0 - Kate Mulgrew to replace Victoria Clark

Signature Theatre Company have announced that Kate Mulgrew is to replace the previously announced Victoria Clark as Clytemnestra, in their New York Premiere production of Charles Mee�s Iphigenia 2.0, playing at Signature Theatre Company�s Peter Norton Space from 7 Aug - 30 Sep 2007.

Clark had to withdraw from the production because of a schedule conflict.

Kate Mulgrew is known for her role as Captain Kathyrn Janeway in the Sci-fi television series "Star-Trek Voyager". Mulgrew made her Broadway debut in White Liars & Black Comedy (1993). She toured the country between 2002 - 2005 in the one woman show "Tea at Five" in which she portrayed Katharine Hepburn. Mulgrew was seen on stage earlier this year in the Manhattan Theatre Club's production of 'Our Leading Lady.'

Iphigenia 2.0 is about a great imperial power that decides to go to war, taking an action so wrong that it sets the empire on the road to complete self-destruction. Agamemnon, the leader of the Greek army, must prove to his uncertain troops that the dangerous battle they are about to undertake is righteous and worthy by making the ultimate sacrifice himself.

Directed by Tina Landau, Iphigenia 2.0 will alo feature Jimonn Cole (Soldier), Will Fowler (Soldier), J.D. Goldblatt (Soldier), Chasten Harmon (Bridesmaid), Jesse Hooker (Soldier), Emily Kinney (Bridesmaid), Louisa Krause (Iphigenia), Tom Nelis (Agamemnon), Angelo Niakas (Old Greek Man), Seth Numrich (Achilles) and Rocco Sisto (Menelaus).

The design team will feature sets by Blythe R.D. Quinlan, costumes by Anita Yavich, lights by Scott Zielinski and sound by Jill BC DuBoff.

Ticket go on sale on 16 Jul at 1pm.
