Imelda, A New Musical at the Julia Miles Theatre


The Pan Asian Repertory Theatre present Imelda, A New Musical, book by Sachi Oyama, music by Nathan Wang and lyrics by Aaron Coleman, opening at the Julia Miles Theatre on 30 Sep 2009, following previews from 22 Sep and running through to 18 Oct 2009.

Imelda, A New Musical: A portrait of Imelda Marcos, former first lady of the Philippines, an ambitious woman who wanted to make her country an equal player on the world stage. Spanning the pivotal years after Philippine Independence from 1940's to 1980's, this is the story of a powerful and controversial figure and her fall from grace.

Directed by Tim Dang and choreographed by Reggie Lee, Imelda, A New Musical features Jaygee Macapugay (Imelda Marcos), Liz Casasola (Corazon Aquino), Mel Sagrado Maghuyop (Ferdinand Marcos), Brian Jose (Ninoy Aquino) Alan Ariano, Angelica-Lee Aspiras, Billy Bustamante, Leanne Cabrera, Sacha Iskra, Loresa Lanceta, Jonelle Margallo and Romney Piamonte.

The creative team features set design by Kaori Akazawa, costumes by Ivy Chou and lighting by Victor En Yu Tan.
