Honeymoon in Vegas Announces More Cast and Creatives

Producers of Jason Robert Brown's new musical Honeymoon in Vegas, which opens on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on 15 January 2015, following previews from 18 November 2014, have announced further cast and creative team.

Joining the previously announced Tony Danza, Rob McClure and Brynn O'Malley will be David Josefsberg (David), Nancy Opel (Bea Singer) and Matthew Saldivar (Johnny Sandwich), reuniting the original six principal cast members from the original pre-Broadway tryout at New Jersey's Papermill Playhouse which gained excellent reviews, with the New York Times calling it "a delightful new musical" and "a swinging hymn to laid-back outrageousness".

Based on the 1992 Castle Rock Entertainment Motion Picture of the same name, Honeymoon in Vegas features a book by Andrew Bergman and score by three-time Tony Award-winner Jason Robert Brown, who was represented on Broadway this past season with 'The Bridges of Madison County'.

The musical tells the story of Jack Singer (Rob McClure), a regular guy with an extraordinary fear of marriage, who finally gets up the nerve to ask his girlfriend Betsy (Brynn O'Malley) to marry him. But when they head to Las Vegas to get hitched, smooth talking gambler Tommy Korman (Tony Danza), looking for a second chance at love, falls head over heels for Betsy. What happens next is anybody's bet!

It has also been announced that in addition to director Gary Griffin and choreographer Denis Jones, the creative team will feature three-time Tony Award nominee Anna Louizos (scenic design), Emmy Award winner Brian C. Hemesath (costume design), Tony Award winner Howell Binkley (lighting design), Tony Award winner Scott Lehrer & Drama Desk Award winner Drew Levy (sound design), Tony and Grammy Award winner Don Sebesky (orchestrations), Larry Blank and Charlie Rosen (additional orchestrations), Tom Murray (music director), and Charles G. LaPointe (hair and wig design).

Off- Broadway he has starred in 'Altar Boyz', 'Rated P', 'Slut', and 'Joys of Sex'. He has also toured with comedian Stephen Lynch, performing his own original material, as well as songs co-written with Stephen Lynch and Jeff Gurner.
