Honeymoon in Vegas and Love Letters Swap Theatres
It has been reported that two upcoming Nederlander productions will swap theatres on Broadway. The previously announced production of Honeymoon in Vegas by Jason Robert Brown will now open at the Nederlander Theatre on 15 January 2015, following previews from 18 November 2014.
Love Letters by A.R. Gurney will now open at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on 18 September 2014, with previews from 13 September 2014.
Producers have stated that previously purchased tickets for either production will automatically be issued to that production's new theatre. In a press statement, Nick Scandalios, Executive Vice President of the Nederlander Organization said, "We are so happy to be able to make these arrangements for both productions which now have their first choice of venue for their particular needs".
The two-hander play Love Letters, which will feature a revolving cast of celebrity actors, will suit the more intimate atmosphere of the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Musical comedy Honeymoon in Vegas will benefit from the extra 126 seats, as well as the larger stage at the Nederlander to accommodate the physical production.
