Heartless: Claire van der Boom joins company

Claire van der Boom joins will join the cast of Signature Theatre's world premiere production of Sam Shepard's Heartless as 'Sally' on 18 Sep 2012. Boom repalces original cast member Julianne Nicholson whose prior commitments prevent her from performing during the show's two week extension through to 30 Sep 2012.

van der Boom starred earlier this year in The New Group's Off-Broadway production of David Rabe's 'An Early History of Fire.' Her TV credits include playing "Rachel Edwards" in "Hawaii Five-0," "Juliette Gardiner" in "City Homicide," "Grace Barry" in "Rush" and "Billie" in "Love My Way."

Heartless opened at the Signature Center's Irene Diamond Stage on 27 Aug 2012, following previews from 7 Aug 2012. Originally scheduled to close on 16 Sep 2012, it extended its run through to 30 Sep 2012 while the show was still in previews.

Directed by Daniel Aukin, the cast also features Jenny Bacon (Lucy), Gary Cole (Roscoe), Betty Gilpin (Elizabeth) and Lois Smith (Mabel).

Heartless: Sally lives with her mysterious family in a cavernous home overlooking Los Angeles. When a visitor arrives, Sally's dark secrets - and the secrets of those around her - threaten to come into the light.

The design team includes Eugene Lee (Scenic Designer), Kaye Voyce (Costume Designer), Tyler Micoleau (Lighting Designer) and Eric Shimelonis (Sound Designer).
