Hampton Fluker to receive Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theater
The 75th Annual Theatre World Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Neil Simon Theatre on Broadway.
The New York Theatre Guide would like to congratulate Hampton Fluker, who is currently starring as George Deever in the Tony-nominated Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's All My Sons at the American Airlines Theatre and has been chosen as the recipient of the 11th Annual Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theater. Mr. Fluker, who has also been nominated for a Drama Desk Award for his performance, will be honored at The 75th Annual Theatre World Awards ceremony on Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Neil Simon Theatre.
Currently making his Broadway debut, Mr. Fluker is perhaps best known for his TV role as Marcus Tufo on NBC's "Shades of Blue." His Off-Broadway credits include Roundabout Theatre Company's Too Heavy For Your Pocket and Esai's Table at Cherry Lane Theatre.
Previous recipients of the Dorothy Loudon Award include Ben Edelman, Katrina Lenk, Nicholas Barasch, Leanne Cope, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Jonny Orsini, Susan Pourfar, Seth Numrich, Bobby Steggert, and Susan Louise O'Connor.
As previously announced, three-time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane (currently starring in the titular role of Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus at the Booth Theatre on Broadway) will be honored with the John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement In The Theatre, celebrating his incredible Broadway career which dates back to 1982. Mr. Lane is the seventh person to receive the prestigious award following previous recipients Victor Garber, Glenn Close, Bernadette Peters, Chita Rivera, Christopher Plummer, and Alan Alda.
In addition, the twelve Theatre World Award recipients for the 2018-2019 season for "Outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway Debut Performances" are:
