God of Carnage: Tickets are now on sale to the general public



Tickets are now go on sale to the general public for Yasmina Reza�s comic-drama, God of Carnage, , translated by Christopher Hampton, playing at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre from 28 Feb 2009 through to 19 Jul 2009.

As previously reported Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, Marcia Gay Harden and James Gandolfini, will star in the production. Matthew Warchus, who helmed the London production of the show, will once again direct.

God of Carnage: What happens when two sets of parents meet up to deal with the unruly behaviour of their children. A calm and rational debate between grown ups about the need to teach kids how to behave properly? Or a hysterical night of name calling, tantrums and tears before bedtime? Boys will be boys, but the adults are usually worse - much worse.

The London production starred Ralph Fiennes, Tamsin Greig, Janet McTeer and Ken Stott at the Gielgud Theatre where it played from 7 Mar - 14 Jun 2008.

Yasmina Reza's dark-comedy 'Art', ran for eight years in London where it won the 1997 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. The production later transferred to Broadway, where it won the 1998 Tony Award for Best Play. Her other plays include 'The Unexpected Man' and 'Life x 3.'

Jeff Daniels' Broadway credits: Redwood Curtain (Lyman: 1993), 'The Golden Age' (Tom: 1984), 'Fifth of July' (Jed Jenkins: 1980) and Gemini (understudy: 1977). His film work includes: 'Dumb & Dumber,' 'Speed,' 'Terms of Endearment,' 'Gettysburg,' 'Arachnophobia,' 'Because of Winn-Dixie,' and 'The Squid and the Whale.' Has a recording artist he has released the CD's 'Grandfather's Hat' 'Together Again' and 'Jeff Daniels Live and Unplugged.'

Hope Davis' Broadway credits: 'Two Shakespearean Actors' (Anne Holland: 1992) and 'Ivanov' (Sasha: 1997 revival). HEr film credits include 'About Schmidt,' 'Flatliners,' 'Mumford,' 'American Splendor' and 'Next Stop Wonderland.' She has played 'Laura Morgan' in the TV series 'Six Degrees' and 'Brooke Benton' in 'Deadline'.

Marcia Gay Harden made her Broadway debut as 'Harper Pitt' in 'Angels in America' (Angels in America: Millennium Approaches : 1993) and Angels in America: Perestroika (1993), for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. She won an Oscar for her role as 'Lee Krasner' in the film 'Pollock' (2000) and was nominated for a second Oscar for her role as 'Celeste Boyle' in 'Mystic River' (2003).

James Gandolfini's Broadway credits: 'On the Waterfront' (Charley Malloy: 1995) and 'A Streetcar Named Desire' (Steve Hubbell: 1992). Gandolfini is best known for his starring role as Tony Soprano in the hit HBO TV series 'The Sopranos'for which he won three Emmy Awards, and was nominated for a further three, as well as winnig a Golden Globe Award.
