Thu 18 Dec 2003 Full casting confirmed for Drowning Crow by Regina Taylor Full casting has been confirmed for the Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Drowning Crow by Regina Taylor, which opens at the Biltmore 19 Feb 2004, following previews from 29 Jan 2004, and booking to 4 April 2004. Alfre Woodard plays family matriarch, classical actress Josephine Nicholas Ark Trip. Anthony Mackie is her son, performance artist Constantine Trip, aka C-Trip. Aunjanue Ellis plays aspiring actress Hannah Jordan, and Peter Francis James plays TV writer Robert Alexander Trigor. (Peter Francis James has replaced the previously announced Joe Morton who is unable to participate in the production due to a film commitment.) The 13-member cast also features Stephanie Berry (Paula Andrea Bow), Paul Butler (Peter Nicholas), Stephen McKinley Henderson (Sammy Bow), Ebony Jo-Ann (Jackie), Peter Macon (Yak), Curtis McClarin (Simon), Roger Robinson (Eugene Dawn), Tracie Thoms (Mary Bow) and Baron Vaughn (Okra). Drowning Crow is directed by Marion McClinton , designed by David Gallo, lighting by Ken Billington, choreography by Ken Roberson and costumes by Paul Tazewell. A new play by the author of CROWNS. Based on Chekov's THE SEAGULL, DROWNING CROW takes place on the Gullah Islands off the coast of modern-day South Carolina, as a family of theatrical artists comes together for a few very momentous days.
