Full Cast Announced for Sting's The Last Ship



The full cast has been announced for Sting's upcoming musical The Last Ship which will open at the Neil Simon Theatre on 26 Oct 2014 following previews from 30 Sep.

The ensemble will feature Ethan Applegate, Craig Bennett, Dawn Cantwell, Jeremy Davis, Bradley Dean, Alyssa DiPalma, Colby Foytik, David Michael Garry, Timothy Gulan, Shawna M. Hamic, Rich Hebert, Leah M. Hocking, Todd A. Horman, Sarah Hunt, Jamie Jackson, Sean Jenness, C. David Johnson, Drew McVety, Johnny Newcomb, Gregory North, Matthew Stocke, Cullen Titmus and Jeremy Woodard.

They will join the previously announced leading cast, which includes Michael Esper, Rachel Tucker, Jimmy Nail, Fred Applegate, Aaron Lazar, Sally Ann Triplett and Collin Kelly-Sordelet.

Producers Jeffrey Seller and Kathryn Schenker have also announced the schedule for pre-sale and general sale tickets for the production. Members of the Sting.com official fan club can exclusively pre-order tickets from Friday, May 16 at 10am EST. General tickets will be available for purchase on June 9 at 10am.

The musical features direction by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello ('Wicked'), a book by Tony Award winner John Logan ('Red') and Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Brian Yorkey ('Next to Normal') and choreography by Olivier Award winner and Tony Award Nominee Steven Hoggett ('Once').

The Last Ship centres on life in the English seafaring town of Wallsend, which has always revolved around the local shipyard, where the hardworking men of this close-knit community construct magnificent vessels with tremendous pride. Gideon Fletcher dreams of a different future and sets out to travel the world, leaving his life and his love behind. When Gideon returns home fourteen years later, he finds the shipyard's future in grave danger and his childhood sweetheart engaged to someone else.

The creative team also features sets and costumes by David Zinn, lighting by Christopher Akerlind and sound by Brian Ronan.
