Four One-Legged Men! consists of four vignettes that depict four distinct amputees from different backgrounds, seasons and eras:

  • Rainbow - a father in a visitation rights battle in the Spring of 1959;
  • I'll Betcha That! - a gay male on his way to a Fourth of July party in the Summer of 1990, but falls and breaks his artificial leg;
  • Waiting for Oz - a delusional Vietnam veteran on a psyche ward after returning from the battlefield in the Fall of 1969. The final vignette is performed without an artificial leg.
