'Fools In Love' is now booking to the 30 Dec 2005



Fools in Love, the 1950's musical based on Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night' Dream' adapted by Sarah Rosenberg and Louis Reyes Cardenas, is now booking to the 30 Dec 2005 at the Manhattan Ensemble Theatre.

The show opened at the Manhattan Ensemble Theatre on the 23 Jun 2005, following previews from the 10 Jun. The musical originaly opened at the Wings Theatre on the 21 Mar 2005 where it ran until the 28 May 2005.

Fools in Love takes the classic tale of love gone astray with the favorite characters Hermia and Lysander, Helena and Demetrius, the fairies, the homespun workers, and sets them in Duke's Diner with the rock'n roll sounds of the 50's and 60's.

The two loving couples are portrayed by Erika Villalba as 'Hermia' and Matt Schuneman as 'Lysander', with Annelise Abrams as 'Helena' and Antony Raymond as 'Demetrius'. 'Titiana', queen of the fairies is played by Margaret Curry and her 'Oberon' is Andy Langton. The incorrigible role of Puck is portrayed by Brandy Wykes.

Fools in Love has the popular songs 'Stop in the Name of Love,' 'Why Do Fools Fall in Love,' 'Twist and Shout,' 'Duke of Earl,' 'Leader of the Pack,' and many more.

Fools in Love is directed by Sarah Rosenberg and Louis Reyes Cardenas, with choreography by Amelia Campbell, costumes by Tom Claypool and set design by Bruce Dean.

Fools in Love is part of a program called 'Shakespeare for Kids.' 'Shakespeare for Kids' is a program created by Sarah Rosenberg and Louis Reyes Cardenas for Millennium Talent Group.

Sarah Rosenberg has been a teacher for over 20 years and has received awards from the White House, U.S. Senate and Congress, and the NAACP for her program 'Dreams Over Drugs'- a multi media slide show musical.
