Flick: playwright Horizons announce complete

Playwrights Horizons (PH) have announced the casting for their world premiere production of Flick, written by Obie Award-winner Annie Baker (Circle Mirror Transformation at PH).

Flick opens at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater on 12 Mar 2013, following previews from 15 Feb 2013, and closing on 31 Mar 2013.

The cast will feature Louisa Krause, Obie Award winner Matthew Maher ('The Race for the Ark Tattoo'), Aaron Clifton Moten (Broadway's 'A Streetcar Named Desire') and Alex Hanna.

Flick: In a run-down movie theater in central Massachusetts, three underpaid employees mop the floors and attend to one of the last 35 millimeter film projectors in New England. Their tiny battles, and not-so-tiny heartbreaks, play out in the empty aisles, becoming more gripping than the lackluster, second-run movies on screen.

The production will be helmed by Sam Gold, who previously collaborated with playwright Annie Baker on Playwrights Horizons Obie-Award winning production of 'Circle Mirror Transformation.'

The creative team features scenic and costume designs by David Zinn, lighting design by Jane Cox and sound design by Bray Poor. Production Stage Manager is Alaina Taylor.
