Fan Appreciation Night at The Play That Goes Wrong
Producers of The Play That Goes Wrong are holding "Appreciation Night Gone Right" at the Lyceum Theatre on January 11, 2018.
The Olivier Award-winning hit comedy The Play That Goes Wrong, currently the longest-running play on the Great White Way, is holding a special "Fan Appreciation Night" at the Lyceum Theatre tonight, which promises a range of in-theater activities and surprises throughout the evening, including photo opportunities with the cast.
The Broadway company issued the following joint statement: "We have the best fans on Broadway, and we can't wait to celebrate them! Fan Night is certain to go RIGHT."
The Play That Goes Wrong began previews at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre on March 9, 2017, and officially opened on April 2.
The Play That Goes Wrong is co-written by Mischief Theatre company and original cast members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields.
Synopsis: "The Play That Goes Wrong is a riotous comedy about the theatre. The play introduces The 'Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society' who are attempting to put on a 1920s' murder mystery, but as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong...does, as the accident prone thespians battle on against all the odds to get to their final curtain call."
The Broadway cast currently includes Ashley Bryant (as Annie), Clifton Duncan (as Robert), Mark Evans (as Chris), Jonathan Fielding (as Jonathan), Alex Mandell (as Max), Amelia McClain (as Sandra), Harrison Unger (as Dennis), and Akron Watson (as Trevor), with Preston Truman Boyd, Ned Noyes, Ashley Reyes, and Katie Sexton.
Under the direction of Mark Bell, the creative team features scenic design by Nigel Hook, costume design by Roberto Surace, lighting design by Ric Mountjoy, and sound design by Andy Johnson.
The Play That Goes Wrong is produced on Broadway by Kevin McCollum, J. J. Abrams, Kenny Wax, Stage Presence Ltd. and Catherine Schreiber.
Having begun its life on the London fringe in front of only four paying members of the public, the play eventually went on to transfer to the West End and win the Olivier Award for Best Comedy in 2015. The Broadway production received the Tony Award for "Best Scenic Design of a Play" and Broadway.com's Audience Choice Award for "Best Play."
The Play That Goes Wrong Tickets are available for performances through to July 1, 2018.
