Eurydice at Second Stage Theatre


Second Stage Theatre will present the New York premiere of Sarah Ruhl�s Eurydice as the final production of its current season. The play will open at the Second Stage Theatre on 12 Jun 2007, following previews from 30 May and running through to 21 Jul 2007.

Eurydice: Re-imagines the classic myth of Orpheus and Eurydice through the eyes of its heroine. When she abruptly dies on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey through the underworld, reunite with her father and struggle to retain the memories of her lost love.

Eurydice will be directed by Les Waters, with set design by Scott Bradley, costumes by Meg Neville, lighting by Russell H. Champa and sound by Bray Poor.

Casting is still to be announced.

Second Stage Theatre�s acclaimed production of Douglas Carter Beane�s The Little Dog Laughed is currently playing at Broadway�s Cort Theatre. And the company�s critically-acclaimed hit musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee continues its run at Broadway�s Circle in the Square Theatre.
