'Elyria' names full Off-Broadway cast

The new play begins performances in February.

UPDATE: Avanthika Srinivasan has joined the cast of Elyria as Young Woman 1, replacing Khyati Sehgal.

Atlantic Theater Company has set the cast for the world premiere of Elyria, a new play written by Deepa Purohit and directed by Awoye Timpo. The show will play at the Linda Gross Theater off Broadway from February 9 to March 19, with opening night on February 27.

The complete cast includes Sanskar Agarwal as Young Man, Nilanjana Bose as Vasanta, Sanjit De Silva as Shiv, Mohit Gautam as Rohan, Gulshan Mia as Dhatta, Bhavesh Patel as Charu, Mahima Saigal as Young Woman 2, Khyati Sehgal as Young Woman 1, and Omar Shafiuzzaman as Hassanali.

On the creative side, Elyria features choreography by Parijat Desai, scenic design by Jason Ardizzone-West, costume design by Sarita Fellows, lighting design and projections by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew, and sound design by Amatus Karim Ali.

Elyria, which marks Purohit's Off-Broadway writing debut, follows two women who reconnect in the Ohio city of the title 20 years after making a major deal. Their reunion forces them to confront both their past and their futures.
