Elf�The Musical, Casey Nicholaw to direct and choreograph workshop



A casting notice reveals that Casey Nicholaw is to direct and choreograph a workshop of Elf�The Musical, which is to take place in Manhattan from 2 Nov - 12 Dec 2009.

The casting notice is for dancers and for singers to be Chorus members who will "play various characters in the ensemble and possibly understudy principal roles."

The musical is based on the 2003 New Line Cinema film 'Elf,' which starred Will Ferrell as 'Buddy,' a baby who crawls into Santa's toy bag and is whisked off to the North Pole where he is raised amongst elfs. A misfit in his elf family, he goes to New York in search of his real family, only to discover that is human family are a mean spirited bunch who do not even believe in Santa.

Elf - The Musical featues music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin and book by Bob Martin & Tom Meehan.

Casey Nicholaw was nominated for Tony Awards for his helmship and choreography of 'The Drowsy Chaperone,' and was also nominated for his choreography of 'Spamalot."
