Edward the Second extends its run by two weeks
The Red Bull Theater Company's production of Christopher Marlowe's Edward the Second, freely adapted by Garland Wright, extends its run by two weeks and will now play through to 27 Jan 2008.
The drama opened at Playwrights Horizons's Peter Jay Sharp Theater on 15 Dec 2007, following previews from 11 Dec and was originally scheduled to close on 13 Jan 2008.
Edward the Second asserts his right to have the private life he desires, only to have his love, his life and his kingdom destroyed. Do those in power have the right to a personal life? Should personal needs be sacrificed for 'the greater good'?' Love at any cost?
Directed by Jesse Berger, Edward the Second features Marc Vietor (Edward II), Arthur Bartow, Rob Breckenridge, Wesley Broulik, Joseph Costa, William DeMerritt, Michael Gotch, Davis Hall, Lucas Hall, Randy Harrison, James Knight, Claire Lautier, Terence MacSweeny, Raum-Aron, Derrick LeMont Sanders, Raphael Nash Thompson and Patrick Vaill.
The creative team comprises John Arnone (sets), Clint Ramos (costumes) and Peter West (lighting).
