Edward II at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater

The Red Bull Theater Company have announced the cast for their production of Christopher Marlowe's Edward II, freely adapted by Garland Wright, opening at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater on 15 Dec 07, following previews from 11 Dec and running through to 13 Jan 2008.

Directed by Jesse Berger, Edward II's cast features Marc Vietor as Edward II, with Arthur Bartow, Rob Breckenridge, Wesley Broulik, Joseph Costa, William DeMerritt, Michael Gotch, Davis Hall, Lucas Hall, Randy Harrison, James Knight, Claire Lautier, Terence MacSweeny, Raum-Aron, Derrick LeMont Sanders, Raphael Nash Thompson and Patrick Vaill.

Marc Vietor's (Edward II) appeared off-Broadway earlier this year in the Theatre for a New Audience's repertoire productions of 'The Jew of Malta' and 'The Merchant of Venice'.

Edward II asserts his right to have the private life he desires, only to have his love, his life and his kingdom destroyed. Do those in power have the right to a personal life? Should personal needs be sacrificed for the greater good? Love at any cost?

The creative team is comprised of John Arnone (sets), Clint Ramos (costumes) and Peter West (lighting).
