Drama League Awards 2016 nominations

Yesterday I attended the nominations announcement for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards, which took place at Sardi's Restaurant. On hand to host the event were the stars of Disney's musical hit Aladdin - Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart. The winners will be announced on 20 May 2016 at the awards ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Times Square.

The recipients of this year's special recognition awards include Tony, Grammy and Pulitzer Prize winner Sheldon Harnick, who will receive the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theatre Award, Olivier Award winner Ivo van Hove, who will be honored with the Founders Award for Excellence in Directing, and lastly, Deaf West Theatre, who will be awarded the Unique Contribution to the Theatre Award.
