Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! full cast announced


The full cast has been announced for Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! � The Musical, which will open at the Hilton Theatre on 18 Nov 2006, following previews from 25 Oct and playing through to 7 Jan 2007.

Co-starring with the previously announced Patrick Page, who will play the Grinch, will be John Cullum as Old Max. Rusty Ross will make his Broadway debut as Young Max.

The cast will also include Caitlin Belcik as Annie Who, Nicole Bocchi as Cindy-Lou Who, Aaron Conley as Boo Who, James Du Chateau as Danny Who, Eamon Foley as Danny Who, Kaitlin Hopkins as Mama Who, Libby Jacobson as Betty Who, Caroline London as Cindy-Lou Who, Michael McCormick as Grandpa Who, Malcolm Morano as Boo Who, Jan Neuberger as Grandma Who, Heather Tepe as Annie Who, Price Waldman as Papa Who and Brynn Williams as Betty Who.

The Little Who ensemble comprises of Jahaan Amin, Kevin Csolak, Antonio D'Amato, Danielle Freid, Brianna Gentilella, Sky Jarrett, Jess Le Protto, Daniel Manche, Kate Micha, Jillian Mueller, Nikki Rose, Molly Ryan, Rafael Luis Tillis (swing), Corwin Tuggles, Kelley Rock Wiese and Lawson Young (swing), while the adult ensemble will feature Janet Dickinson, Andre Garner, Amy Griffin (swing), Kurt Kelly (swing), Josie Roberts, William Ryall, Jeff Skowron and Pearl Sun.

John Cullum (Old Max) returns to the Broadway stage following his performance as Caldwell B. Cladwell in Urinetown (2001). He won a Tony Award (Best Actor in a Musical) for his performance as Oscar Jaffee in On the Twentieth Century (1978) and won his second Tony Award (Best Actor in a Musical) for his performance as Charlie Anderson in Shenandoah (Revival 1989).

Mr Cullum's many Broadway credits includes playing Guy in Doubles (1985), Bobby Horvath in The Trip Back Down (1977). He made his Broadway debut playing Sir Dinadan in Camelot (1960).

In Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! � The Musical, a Christmas hating Grinch steals all the xmas toys and decorations from the Christmas loving Who's family. As the musical unfolds both the Grinch and the Who's learn the true meaning of Chriatmas. The show includes two songs from the 1966 Grinch film: 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch' and 'Welcome Christmas.'

The musical has been playing during the Christmas holidays at The Old Globe Theater in San Diego for the last 8 years. The show was conceived and created by Jack O'Brien, and is based on the 1957 christmas story by Dr. Seuss of the same name.

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! � The Musical has book and lyrics by Timothy Mason and music by Mel Marvin and will be directed by Matt August and choreographed by John DeLuca.

Set design by John Lee Beatty, with costumes by Robert Morgan, lighting by Pat Collins and sound by Acme Sound Partners.

The musical is being produced on Broadway by Running Subway Prods. The musical will play 12 performances a week - eight of them at the weekend. This unusual performance scheduled has been ageed with the Trade Unions. Broadway shows usually only play 8 performances per week
