Doubt: Jena Malone will play Sister James from the 10 Jan 2006.

Jena Malone will make her Broadway debut playing Sister James in Doubt, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play by John Patrick Shanley, directed by Doug Hughes.

Jena Malone will begin performances, opposite Eileen Atkins as Sister Aloysius, Ron Eldard as Father Flynn and Adriane Lenox as Mrs. Muller, from the 10 Jan 2006, at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

Heather Goldenhersh will play her final performance as Sister James on the 8 Jan 2006.

Jena Malone is featured as Lydia Bennet in the current film version of Jane Austen�s classic, Pride and Prejudice, and will be seen in the upcoming releases, Lying, The Go-Getter, The Container and Four Last Songs.

Doubt opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre on the 31 Mar 2005, following previews from the 9 Mar and is currently booking to the 29 Jan 2006. The play had a successful off-Broadway run at the City Center's Stage One from the 22 Nov 2004 - 30 Jan 2005.

Doubt opened to mostly excellent notices. The New York Times said of the show "Tight, absorbing and expertly acted." and the New York Daily News wrote "It is the richest piece of theater we've had in years.�

Doubt is set against the backdrop of a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, Doubt is the story of a strong-minded woman faced with a difficult decision. Should she voice concerns about one of her male colleagues even if shes not entirely certain of the truth?

OByrne (Father Flynn - thru to the 8 Jan 2006), Ron Eldard (Father Flynn - from the 10 Jan 2006), Heather Goldenhersh (Sister James) and Adriane Lenox (Mrs Muller).

Doubt has set design by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Catherine Zuber, lighting by Pat Collins and original music and sound design by David Van Tieghem.
