Tue 30 Nov 2004 "Doubt" extends to 30 Jan at City Center's Stage One The Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Doubt, a new play by John Patrick Shanley, has been extended through to 30 Jan 2005. The production, directed by Doug Hughes, was originally announced to play a limited engagement to 9 Jan 2005. Doubt, by John Patrick Shanley, opened on the 22 Nov 2004, following previews from 3 Nov 2004 The cast features Heather Goldenhersh, Cherry Jones, Adriane Lenox and Br�an F. OByrne The creative team for Doubt includes: John Lee Beatty (set design), Catherine Zuber (costume design), Pat Collins (lighting design), and David Van Tieghem (original music & sound design). Synopsis: In the 1960s, at a Catholic school in the Bronx, a nun grows suspicious when a priest begins taking too much interest in the life of a young male student. Is she being overly protective...or not protective enough? Doubt reunites John Patrick Shanley with MTC, where his plays have included 'Where's My Money?' and 'Four Dogs and a Bone'. Director Doug Hughes previously helmed 'An Experiment with an Air Pump' at MTC, and received a Tony nomination last season for his direction of the acclaimed drama, 'Frozen'.
