Dixies Tupperware Party, at Ars Nova Theater

Ars Nova presents Dixies Tupperware Party, a comedy by by Kris Andersson and Elizabeth Meriwether, opening at the Ars Nova Theater on 10 May 2007, following previews from 18 Apr and running through to 17 Jun 2007.

Dixies Tupperware Party: Dixie Longate, the fast-talking Tupperware Lady, has packed up her catalogues, and left her children in an Alabama trailer park to journey to The Big Apple. Join Dixie as she throws a good olfashioned Tupperware Party filled with outrageous tales, free giveaways, and the most fabulous assortment of Tupperware ever sold on a New York stage. See for yourself how Ms. Longate became the number one Tupperware seller in the world, as she educates her guests on the many alternative uses she has discovered for her plastic products!

Dixie Longate hails from Mobile, Alabama. She has had three marriages, and three children: Wynona, Dwayne, and Absorbine Jr. Her three off-spring are not the products of any of her three marriagesthough she did wait to have children until after she was married. She started selling Tupperware five and a half years ago and found that she had a knack. Within one year after going to her first Jubilee, the national Tupperware Sales Conference, she became the #1 personal seller of Tupperware in the US and Canada. She is on a quest to put a spill-proof tumbler in the hands of everyone she touches. And as luck would have it, she decided she wanted to do some touching in New York City.

Directed by Alex Timbers, Dixies Tupperware Party features set design by Cameron Anderson, with costumes by Camille Assaf, lighting by Jeff Croiter and sound by Eric Shim.
