‘Death of a Salesman’ starring Brian Dennehy to be live streamed online

The 1999 Broadway production will be available to stream next week.

A live stream of the 1999 revival of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman will be available to watch online next week. In a collaboration with Showtime, Goodman Theatre and The Actors Fund, Death of A Salesman will be online from October 21 - 25 on Playbill, with donations going to The Actors Fund.

"The great Arthur Miller explored in his plays what it means to be an American, asking what can we expect from our country? How do we find fulfillment if we are just scraping by? Do all our daily efforts make a difference?" said Robert Falls, who directed the production. He continued by saying "These questions remain as relevant today as they were in 1949, when the play premiered—and in the late 1990s, when I directed it. I invite you to consider Miller's vexing questions through the lens of America's past, present and future."

The 1999 revival of Death of a Salesman ran for 274 performances at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, winning four Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Play. Brian Dennehy and Elizabeth Franz won Tonys for their portrayals of Willy Loman and Linda Loman respectively, with Robert Falls winning Best Director.

The filmed performance premiered in 2000, and has not been seen on television since its original release.

One of Arthur Miller's greats, Death of a Salesman follows Willy, a hardworking American who dedicated his working life to being a New York salesman. As he confronts a new found reality, his dreams of striking it rich seem to disappear, with life beginning to take its toll.
