Dead Accounts: opening date shifted to 29 Nov 2012

Theresa Rebeck's new play Dead Accounts has shifted its opening date. Originally scheduled to open at the Music Box Theatre on 28 Nov 2012, the show will now open on 19 Nov 2012. The comedy will still begin previews from 3 Nov 2012 as originally scheduled.

Directed by Jack O'Brien the comedy will star Norbert Leo Butz and Katie Holmes. The rest of the five character cast, along with the creative team, will be announced shortly.

In Dead Accounts Jack's (Norbert Leo Butz) unexpected return throws his family into a frenzy, and his sister Lorna (Katie Holmes) needs answers. Is he coming home or running away? Where is his wife everyone hates? And how did he get all that money? Theresa Rebeck's new comedy tackles the issues of corporate greed, small town values, and whether or not your family will always welcome you back...with no questions asked.

Dead Accounts is Theresa Rebeck's third play to be produced on Broadway. Her comedy 'Seminar,' which starred Alan Rickman and was directed by Sam Gold, played at Broadway's John Golden Theatre from 27 Oct 2011 - 6 May 2012. And her first Broadway play 'Mauritius' was produced by the Manhattan Theatre Club ib 2007. In addition to her work as a playwright, Rebeck is also an award-winning television writer and producer ("NYPD Blue," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," the upcoming NBC series "Smash"), film writer ("Harriet the Spy," "Seducing Charlie Barker) and novelist ("Twelve Rooms with a View" and "Three Girls and Their Brother").

The comedy is being produced on Broadway by Jeffrey Finn, who also produced Rebecks' Broadway premiere of 'Seminar.'
