Daniel Radcliffe will return to Broadway in the solo play Every Brilliant Thing, performing a limited 13-week run at the Hudson Theatre this spring. Performances begin on February 21 ahead of a March 12 opening night.
Written by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe, Every Brilliant Thing tells the story of a man who makes a list of things that make life worthwhile, reflecting on the hope that carried him through life. While the actor is alone on stage, the play involves frequent audience interaction and participation.
Every Brilliant Thing premiered in 2013 at the Ludlow Fringe Festival in England in 2013 and made its NYC debut off Broadway at the Barrow Street Theatre in 2014. The Radcliffe-led production marks Every Brilliant Thing’s Broadway debut, and it comes on the heels of a starry, critically acclaimed production currently running in London’s West End, with a rotating cast of actors including Donahoe and Minnie Driver.
Though best known for starring in the title role of the Harry Potter film series, Radcliffe is also a stage veteran. He returns to the Hudson after starring there in the 2023-24 Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along, for which Radcliffe was nominated for and won his first Tony Award.
His previous Broadway credits include Equus, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and The Cripple of Inishmaan, plus the pre-Broadway premiere of the Merrily We Roll Along revival at New York Theatre Workshop, earning Drama Desk Award nominations for all four performances.
Jeremy Herrin directs Radcliffe in Every Brilliant Thing on Broadway. The creative team also includes set and costume designer Vicki Mortimer, lighting designer Jack Knowles, and sound designer Tom Gibbons.
