Chita Rivera, Idina Menzel, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and more to appear at 'The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back!' concert

The concert will follow the 74th annual Tony Awards presentation on September 26.

Block, Tituss Burgess, Darren Criss, Robbie Fairchild, Beanie Feldstein, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jordan Fisher, Santino Fontana, Andrew Garfield, Jared Grimes, Josh Groban, Jennifer Holliday, Nikki M. James, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Ron Cephas Jones, Cyndi Lauper, Norm Lewis, John Lithgow, Lindsay Mendez, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Jennifer Nettles, Lynn Nottage, Adam Pascal, Bernadette Peters, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Andrew Rannells, Anthony Rapp, Anika Noni Rose, Lea Salonga, Ali Stroker, Black Thought, Courtney B. Vance, Daniel J. Watts, and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. The concert will also include performances from Hairspray, John Legend with the cast of Ain't Too Proud, David Byrne and the cast of American Utopia, and a closing performance from Freestyle Love Supreme.

It's so nice to have them back where they belong! More than a dozen Broadway stars have been announced as part of The Tony Awards Present: Broadway's Back!, a concert special celebrating the return of theatre in New York. The concert will air at 9 p.m. September 26 on CBS, following the broadcast of the 74th annual Tony Awards ceremony at 7 p.m. that night on Paramount+.

As previously announced, six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald will host the Tonys ceremony, and Tony winner Leslie Odom, Jr., will host the Broadway's Back! concert. Newly confirmed to participate in Broadway's Back! are McDonald, Annaleigh Ashford, Kerry Butler, Kristin Chenoweth, André De Shields, Jake Gyllenhaal, Christopher Jackson, Idina Menzel, Ruthie Ann Miles, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Bebe Neuwirth, Kelli O'Hara, Ben Platt, Jeremy Pope, Chita Rivera, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and BD Wong. Additional performers are to be announced.

The 74th annual Tony Awards will celebrate shows that opened during the 2019-20 Broadway season, which ended prematurely in March 2020 due to the pandemic. The awards ceremony was originally scheduled to take place on June 7, 2020 at Radio City Music Hall, but it and the concert will now take place at the Winter Garden Theatre.
