Catch Me If You Can: new musical is a probable candidate for a Broadway bow

The new musical by Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman, Catch Me If You Can, which is currently enjoying a successful world premiere at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre, is an increasingly probable candidate for a Broadway bow.

The musical is being well received by audiences, and critics thought the show was appealing, even if there are still a few creases that need to be ironed out, mainly the three hour running time.

The world premiere cast of Catch Me If You Can features Norbert Leo Butz, Tom Wopat, Aaron Tveit, Kerry Butler, and more.

The producers of the show have recently agreed to take the show on the road (no venues or dates have been announced), but rumours are mounting that after a few fixes and one or two pre-Broadway runs, the show will be ready to hit the Great White Way.

Catch Me If You Can features Music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, choreography by Scott Wittman, and direction by Jack O'Brien. This is the same Tony Award winning team that created the Broadway hit musical 'Hairspray.' Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre was also where 'Hairspray' had its world premiere.
