"Cabaret" delays closure again, now booking to 4 Jan 2004

Tue 7 Oct 2003 "Cabaret" delays closure again, now booking to 4 Jan 2004 Cabaret, which posted closing notices at Studio 54 after a run of nearly 6 years for 2 Nov 2003, and then delayed the closure to 30 Nov 03, has announced it is now booking to 4 Jan 2004. As of that date, CABARET will have played 37 previews and 2,378 performances. However, it cannot extend much further as Stephen Sondheim's musical Assassins is expected at Studio 54 in Feb 2004. This Donmar Warehouse production was presented by Roundabout Theater Company at Studio 54 from 13 Feb 1998. The show has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and book by Joe Masteroff. It is directed by Sam Mendes and choreographed by Rob Marshall. Cabaret, the Tony Award-winning revival, tells the story of an English woman's romance with an American writer set against the background of the crumbling Germany at the start of the Third Reich.
