BroadwayHD announces four new theatrical titles to stream in August
The streaming service announces True West, Ibsen's A Doll's House, and Summer Stock, starring Judy Garland and Gene Kelly, for this month's line-up.
August marks nearly five months without live theater, but BroadwayHD is breaking up the quarantine monotony and debuting new titles throughout the month.
The theatrical streaming platform, which was founded in 2015 by Tony-winning producers Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley, is a subscription service that provides members on-demand access to 300 plays and musicals from Broadway, the West End, the silver screen, and beyond.
This month, subscribers will have access to four new productions: Summer Stock, A Doll's House, True West, and A Comedy of Errors.
Summer Stock, an iconic musical comedy starring Judy Garland and Gene Kelly, is available as of August 1. Broadway HD will release the Young Vic production of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House directed by Carrie Cracknell on August 6. The Tricycle Theater production of Sam Shepard's masterpiece, True West, directed by Phillip Breen, will debut on the streaming platform on August 11. This month's final release will be on August 20 and will feature the Royal Shakespeare Company production of The Comedy of Errors, directed by Payl Hunter.
