Broadway and the Bard at Theatre Row from 28 January

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) in association with Alan Siegel Entertainment presents Broadway and the Bard: An Evening of Shakespeare & Song, conceived by Len Cariou, Barry Kleinbort & Mark Janas, which begins previews at Theatre Row's Lion Theatre on 28 January 2016, before an official opening on 4 February and a limited run through to 6 March 2016.

Amas Artistic Producer Donna Trinkoff released the following statement:

"Amas Musical Theatre is thrilled to present the World Premiere production of Broadway and the Bard. Len Cariou is a musical theatre legend and it is an honor to have the opportunity to share his extraordinary gifts with New York audiences."
Synopsis: "In Broadway and the Bard, Tony Award winner Len Cariou gives full voice to an idea that he has harbored since his first prophetic Broadway season of Henry V and Applause; Combining his two great loves - Shakespeare and American Musical Comedy - into one tapestry; outfitting trenchant classical soliloquies and sonnets with inventive musical pairings from beloved writers of the Great White Way."

Broadway and the Bard is directed by Barry Kleinbort and features musical direction by Mark Janas, scenic design by Josh Iocavelli, and lighting and sound design by Matt Berman.

Len Cariou won a Tony Award for "Best Actor in a Musical" in 1979 for 'Sweeney Todd.' He also earned nominations in the same category for 'A Little Night Music' in 1973 and 'Applause' in 1970. Other Broadway credits include 'The House of Atreus,' 'King Henry V,' 'Night Watch,' 'Don't Call Back,' 'Cold Storage,' 'Dance a Little Closer,' 'Teddy & Alice,' 'The Speed of Darkness,' 'The Dinner Party,' and 'Proof.'
