Brandy will return to Broadway as Roxie Hart in Chicago

Grammy Award-winning R&B star Brandy (Norwood) is set to return to the Broadway production of Kander & Ebb's musical Chicago for a special 17-performance engagement from August 17 to 31, 2017.

She previously made her Broadway debut in the musical for a limited 8-week engagement from April 28 to June 21, 2015.

Brandy has sold over 40 million albums worldwide. She has released 6 studio albums and her record "The Boy Is Mine" (with Monica) is the longest running number-one song and best-selling duet of all time, earning her a Grammy in 1999. Her film credits include "Cinderella," "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer," "Double Platinum," and "Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor." Her TV credits include "Thea," "Moesha," "One on One," "90210," "Drop Dead Diva," "The Game," and "Zoe Ever After."

The current principal cast of Chicago features Charlotte d'Amboise (Roxie Hart), Lana Gordon (Velma Kelly), Tom Hewitt (Billy Flynn), Raymond Bokhour (Amos Hart), NaTasha Yvette Williams (Matron Mama Morton), and R. Lowe (Mary Sunshine).

Chicago is the second longest-running production currently playing on Broadway, Broadway's longest-running musical revival, as well as the longest-running American show in Broadway history. It has been playing on Broadway since November 14, 1996, and it moved to its current home, the Ambassador Theatre, on the January 29, 2003.

Chicago follows not your usual housewife, Roxie Hart, who gains dubious notoriety when she kills her boyfriend, invents her defence and manipulates everyone from her trustworthy husband to the fickle media and the unsuspecting public. The show features the well known songs, "All That Jazz," "Razzle Dazzle" and "Mr. Cellophane".

The musical features a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb, with a book by Bob Fosse & Fred Ebb. The revival production is directed by Walter Bobbie, with choreography by Ann Reinking, scene design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Ken Billington and sound design by Scott Lehrer.

Chicago is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording. The show is currently booking to July 1, 2018.
