"Billy Crystal's 700 Sundays" to close on Sun 22 May 2005


The closing performance of Billy Crystal's 700 Sundays, will be on Sun 22 May 2005 at the Broadhurst Theatre.

Performed and written by Mr. Crystal with additional content by Alan Zweibel, 700 Sundays is directed by Des McAnuff. Produced by Janice Crystal, Larry Magid and Face Productions.

700 Sundays will have played 21 previews and 149 regular performances when it closes. The show opened on the 5 Dec 2004, following previews from the 12 Nov.

700 Sundays broke the box office record at the Broadhurst Theatre for the week ending 12 Dec 2004 and went on to break its own record for six consecutive weeks thereafter. With a cumulative gross of over $21 million, 700 Sundays set a new record for the highest weekly grossing non-musical in Broadway history and was one of the top ten grossing shows every single week of its run.

The show has received an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination and Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance and a Drama League Distinguished Performance Award nomination.
