Betty Buckley in her new cabaret show A Time For Love at the Café Carlyle from the 1 Mar - 9 Apr 2005
Café Carlyle (located in The Carlyle Hotel, Madison Avenue), celebrating its 50th Anniversary season, announces the return engagement of Betty Buckley.
A Time For Love, Ms Buckley's new song collection, will feature the work of Henry Mancini (Dreamsville), Johnny Mercer (Day In Day Out) and Johnny Mandel (A Time For Love). In addition, her program will include tunes by such contemporary songwriters as James Taylor (On the Fourth of July), Randy Newman (I Think It's Going To Rain Today), Mary Chapin Carpenter (Where Time Stands Still), Tom Waits (New Coat of Paint), Julie Gold (Good Night New York) and Sarah McLachlan (Angel).
Ms. Buckley will be joined by her longtime musical director, the renowned pianist Kenny Werner, Tony Marino on bass and Jamey Haddad on percussion.
Betty Buckley's B'way credits include 'Cats' (Grizabella, the Glamour Cat), 'Triumph Of Love' (Hesione), 'Sunset Boulevard' (Desmond), '1776', 'Pippin', 'Song And Dance', 'The Mystery If Edwin Drood' and 'Carrie'. Off-B'way credits include 'Drood', 'The Eros Trilogy', 'Juno Swans' and 'Elegies'.
She has completed 10 CD's, including 'Betty Buckley Live At The Donmar' and 'Stars And The Moon'. Her most recent CD is 'The Doorway' on the Fynsworth Alley label.
