The New York Theatre Workshop will stage the NY premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar's new thriller The Invisible Hand, directed by Obie Award winner Ken Rus Schmoll, which begins previews on 19 November 2014, before officially opening on 8 December, and continuing its limited engagement through to 4 January 2015.

Synopsis: "The Invisible Hand follows an American investment banker, kidnapped and held for ransom in Pakistan, as he trades for his life. This suspenseful new play is a chilling and complex look at how far we will go to save ourselves and the devastating ramifications of our individual actions on global power and politics."

Playwright Ayad Akhtar is also currently represented on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre with his drama Disgraced, which officially opens on 23 October 2014 and is booking through to 18 January 2015.
